🍂 The language is very modern despite it being fantasy. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my hopes :/ If you’re a fan of fantasy romance, I would recommend checking this one out. The world building was great as was the character development which got me more excited to see even more romances in this world play out. I wish there was a little more steam, but to be honest this was a great start to the beginning of the series. They couldn’t get enough of each other no matter how much they tried to deny it at first. I could not get enough of Cinnamon and Fallon. This book was not only adventurous, but contained the cutest romance ever. They then set off on an adventure to destroy said goddess and free those who have been bound to her.

After attempting to attack her, he reveals that the goddess they worship is really evil and has made all of the demons under her power lose control. We follow a main character by the name of Cinnamon after she casually runs into a demon after a night out. Honestly, I’m known more so for reading contemporary romance, but I heard so many good things about this one that I had to give it a try! It’s not only cute, but hilarious and steamy. Other cw/tw that i wrote down while reading: drinking, loss of a loved one in past, grief depiction, threat of sexual violence, violence, abuse, slavery, blood, torture, vomit, animal death (alligator haha), mention of kidnapping, fatphobic comments that are in a negative light + immediately challenged/shut downīlog | instagram | youtube | kofi | spotify | amazon but i very much do not think that will be an issue for many readers, especially romance readers! plus cinnamon is just the absolutely best main character, and she is so effortlessly funny! i am so excited to continue on in this world!Īuthor's cw/tw: light bdsm, dubcon, violence, sexually explicit content the love interest was towards the last half of this book.

this also is a four part quest storyline, and you all know how much i love watching characters travel to their adventures! i was so impressed with this, and i promise it is a very high three star, but i just didn't love how. (please look at some content warnings down below!) but i really enjoyed this one, especially the first half and set up.

This is such a delightful cozy fantasy, but it also does have some higher stakes at play, while also talking about some, and having some, heavier themes and topics.
